Import games
Ren'Go doesn't include or download games. You import the ones you have.
What you can import
Section titled “What you can import”- ZIP, APK, 7z and RAR archives of Ren'Py 7 and 8 games.
- A whole game folder.
- The Windows, Mac, Linux or Android build of a game you own.
From the Files app
Section titled “From the Files app”- In the Library, tap the plus button.
- Pick the archive or the folder.
- Wait while Ren'Go unpacks it. The game appears in the Library when it is done.
From Safari, AirDrop or the share sheet
Section titled “From Safari, AirDrop or the share sheet”Open the download, tap the share button and choose Ren'Go. When you receive a file by AirDrop, choose Ren'Go to open it. Ren'Go opens and imports the file.
What Ren'Go does for you
Section titled “What Ren'Go does for you”- It finds the game inside the archive.
- It picks the right engine, Ren'Py 7 or Ren'Py 8.
- If an archive needs a password, Ren'Go asks for it.
Updating a game
Section titled “Updating a game”Import a newer build of a game you already have. Ren'Go offers to update it in place. Your saves and progress stay, and Ren'Go backs up the saves first.
If a game doesn't import
Section titled “If a game doesn't import”Ren'Go needs the game's folder with its game/ directory, or an Android build. If no game is found, try a newer build from the game's author, or a build made for Android.
